The annual Healthy Kids Day at the Mooresville YMCA is coming up on Saturday April 28th. We are proud to sponsor this event and hope that our friends in the community will stop by and see us at our booth. We are proud to introduce our new physical therapist Jennifer Jones, DPT to our community. Jennifer with fulfill our needs for a second full time therapist and allow us to extend our hours to better serve our patients. Jennifer graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of St. Augustine in St. Augustine Florida. She has the experience we need and brings a few unique skills such as Spider Taping. Her profile will be added to our website soon.

James P. McDonald, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon with Northshore Orthopedic & Sports Medicine in Mooresville and Medical Director of The Orthopedic & Spine Center of Lake Norman, and David C. Hillsgrove, MD, also an Orthopedic Surgeon with Northshore Orthopedic & Sports Medicine, will present the new technology for painful osteoarthritis of the knee, MAKOplasty®, that is now offered at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

Dr. McDonald and Dr. Hillsgrove will present free public seminars the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in the hospital’s Community Rooms A and B beginning December 13th and 27th, and continuing each month through 2012. The hospital is located at Exit 33, off of I-77, in Mooresville.

This free seminar focuses on MAKOplasty®, a minimally invasive partial knee resurfacing procedure to treat early to mid-stage osteoarthritis. Using robotic arm technology, MAKOplasty® can provide quicker rehabilitation and more natural knee motion post-surgery compared to a total knee replacement.
